Reminder of Public Hearings on the Proposed Federal
Electoral Map for Nova Scotia

Deadline for Notice of Representation is August 27, 2012

HALIFAX, Thursday, August 16, 2012 — The Federal Electoral Boundaries Commission for Nova Scotia is set to hold public hearings on the new federal electoral map it recently proposed.

The commission makes final decisions about where the electoral boundaries will be located after consultation, giving the public and members of Parliament an opportunity to express their views and participate in the process.

Everyone is invited to attend. Those wishing to make a representation at a hearing are requested to send the commission written notice no later than August 27, 2012.

  • Sydney, Cambridge Suites, Tuesday, September 4, 2012 at 7:00 p.m.

  • Port Hawkesbury, Maritime Inn, Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at 7:00 p.m.

  • Greenwich, Old Orchard Inn, Sunday, September 9, 2012 at 7:00 p.m.

  • Truro, Best Western Plus Glengarry, Thursday, September 13, 2012 at 7:00 p.m.

  • Stellarton, Holiday Inn Express, Friday, September 14, 2012 at 7:00 p.m.

  • Halifax, Quality Inn and Suites, Tuesday, September 18, 2012 at 7:00 p.m.

  • Bridgewater, Best Western Plus Bridgewater, Thursday, September 20, 2012 at 7:00 p.m.

  • Yarmouth, Rodd Grand Yarmouth, Friday, September 21, 2012 at 7:00 p.m.

To make a representation, send notice to the commission by e-mail at ns-ne@rfed-rcf.ca or by mail (1801 Hollis Street, Suite 520, Halifax, Nova Scotia, B3J 3N4). Hearings may be cancelled if no notice of representation is received.
